I learned a lot about myself and my eating habits on this program. I’m usually pretty good at listening to my body and I should have listened a little closer on the program. In an attempt to do it the way it was written I ignored my overwhelming cravings for salt, and my blood pressure and mood suffered. In phase 3 my mood was really low and my salt cravings were at their worst. When I finally caved in and started adding just a little salt, things immediately began to improve. My mind is clearer, my mood is still not normal, but I’m a lot less irritable and my energy picked up a bit. I’m trying to keep salt to a minimum with so few days left, but I believe I’ll need to add just a little more.
I’ve also learned I need to work on my slow bowel. I’m not exactly sure what I’ll be doing this next year to improve my colon health, but it is one of my new wellness goals to find out. My first steps will be to add the gut health supplements to see if that improves the situation. I hate taking supplements, but I’m hoping a few months of Probiotic, and Digestive Enzymes will improve the situation.
I’m glad I did it, I’m glad it’s almost over, and I will do this again next January. I’m hoping our group will share with me their weight loss totals and any other measurements they tracked during this process. I’m hoping to get in to get my thyroid and cholesterol measured next week to see if either have improved.
