Each December I set intentions for the upcoming year. These aren’t resolutions, but things I’d like to focus on. Last December I wanted to learn more about Holistic Healing and was beginning to read blogs and select books on herbs and tinctures. In 2012 we had renovated our garden to make room for these amazing healing plants and more food production. I also wanted to serve my community more and took on new volunteer roles with the city. I also wanted to get more fit and lose some weight. Most of all I wanted to connect with more like-minded people and was getting involved with more environmental groups.
In essence I did most of those things but completely differently than I had planned. I went to a class just before Christmas 2012, mostly because I loved to spend time with my friend Joselyn. Little did I know that hour would change my life so dramatically. The class turned out to be about essential oils and I decided to give them a try. The idea of being able to drip a few drops from a bottle of ready-made natural medicine was a very appealing idea, especially since I’d already learned that some natural remedies can be harmful if not prepared properly. I was new to this world of natural medicine and really didn’t have a lot of faith that these potions would work. I think I actually rolled my eyes as I signed my membership agreement and gave my payment information.
I had no idea that these little bottles would change my life in so many ways. Not only were they powerful medicine, but my sharing my experiences made others want to try it too. Next thing I knew I was starting a business and fueling a passion. This opportunity was exactly what I had been looking for and I had no idea it existed. I am using Holistic Healing remedies, serving my community by teaching others to take control of their own health and I have connected with an amazing group of like-minded people and I’ve easily lost weight. Everything worked out perfectly, just not as I had planned it.
