Not everyone in the group felt the same as I do. A few people just couldn’t handle the soup and opted out, others didn’t like the vegetable choices, and some didn’t like the smoothies. We all got through the first 4 days with minimal complaints, but we are missing our strong flavored foods.
Weight loss is being noticed. My husband is irritating because he always looses so quickly, 7 lbs in 3 days, I’m just under 1 lb per day so far. A few people are feeling a little sick, it’s hard to know if it is a withdrawal, a cleanse reaction or a virus. So far everyone is still on board to keep going and hope any symptoms will pass quickly. Low energy seems to be the most common complaint, but we seem to be finding individual ways to deal with it.
We began the 2nd half of phase one which introduces fruit 1 at a time in our smoothies. After 4 days with no sugar at all it really feels like a treat to have berries in the smoothies. I think we are all excited about fruit coming back into our lives. This is also part of the program designed to really get things moving, so I expect to experience some physical discomfort at some point, because so far other than a little hunger late in the evening I haven’t had any discomfort.
I really expected to have more to share, but so far this isn’t as hard as I expected. The program is set up very well to help you shop and prep. We have been good to keep the right foods on hand. I rarely spend more than 15-30 minutes preparing food each day. There was some confusion about how to make 3 quarts of smoothie in a 2 quart pitcher, but I think we have worked it out without being as complicated as the instructions in the book.
